2004, when I was 14, I had my first experience with metal music at a friend's place. I didn't really have a huge interest in it because I had heard it was just "loud screaming and even louder guitar playing," so I didn't bother with it too much until then. The first few things my friend showed me that day were Caliban, Slayer, and In Flames. Caliban and Slayer were too rough for me to listen to, as I had never experienced metal up to that point in my life, and I thought to myself, "I guess this just isn't for me. I can't enjoy any of this." ...Until my friend hit the forward button on his PC once more, and "The Quiet Place" started playing. And... that moment back then... Man... It was like an unbelievable revelation to me! I was just in awe of how insanely good that track was, and since then, it's been my favorite song by far. I still listen to the album regularly and have been a huge fan and a metalhead to the core thanks to In Flames. So... I guess what I wanna say is: Thank you for the awesome years and for continuing to be freakin' awesome!

This is one of their best albums! Great for working out in my basement.

Metal and just good ol rock music need to make a big comeback in the states. Country music and rap are way off the rails nowadays and there's no talent anymore. We need talented musicians that are interested in making music with instruments rather than a laptop and samples. There's no creativity anymore and most of the song writers are behind the scenes and get no real recognition. The music industry right now is trash.
